Victoria Anne Giblin – of Paramus, New Jersey the daughter of the late Neville Small and Grace Small passed away on Sunday, May 10, 2020.
She was 70 years old.
Victoria attended New Milford High School in New Milford, NJ where she excelled as a student and member of the cheerleading squad. She would go on to attend Robert Morris College in Carthage, IL.
Mrs. Giblin worked as the hostess and bookkeeper at Pier 17 Restaurant in Paramus, NJ where she would eventually meet her husband the late Paul Giblin Sr. Together they would raise their two children in Paramus.
After losing her daughter, Colleen Giblin, at four years of age, Victoria and her husband Paul created the Colleen Giblin Foundation in 1985. From its inception, Victoria would go on to serve as the President of the Foundation for almost 20 years. With the support of family, friends and colleagues, Victoria and Paul raised millions of dollars to help find a cure for pediatric neurological diseases. Proceeds from the foundation continue to support the research efforts at The Colleen Giblin Foundation Laboratory at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital in New York.
Mrs. Giblin had a love for fashion, dance and theater. Some of her favorite pastimes included attending Broadway shows, traveling to Disney World with her family and watching her son, Todd’s football games.
She is survived by her son Todd, daughter-in-law Kim and grandson Conor. She is also survived by her brothers Doug Small and his wife Patricia, Brian Small and his wife Susanne and by her sisters Terri McCarney and her husband Brian and Donna Gillan. She is also survived by her eleven nieces and nephews.
Victoria will be remembered by family and friends, as a beautiful, loving, passionate and courageous woman. A private Funeral Service will be held at Boulevard Funeral Home, New Milford, NJ on Thursday May 14th at 11AM.
