Vernon T. Morgan

Vernon Morgan passed away in his home surrounded by his loving family, Friday January 14, 2022 at the age of 97.  

Vernon was born August 22, 1924 to the late George and Dorothy Morgan on the island of Trinidad & Tobago. As a young child, his family left Trinidad & Tobago and moved to Aruba. Growing up in Aruba he was known to many for his passion of many sports, especially Basketball, soccer and Tennis. He worked for many years as an electrician at Lago Oil Refinery in San Nicholas, Aruba. Vernon met the love of his life Dora and together with their 3 children they left Aruba in 1955 for New York. In New York, he worked for many years at the New York Stock Exchange for various companies. Later on, he worked for Sealand in Elizabeth, NJ until he retired. Vernon had many hobbies, but his passions were his gardening and painting (pet rocks).  

He is survived by his loving wife Dora Morgan, his two children Leona Nicholson and Julio Nicholson, his grandchildren, Francesca Porter, Daniella DeNooijer, Renee Nicholson, Julius Nicholson, Aria Nicholson, Anjulia Nicholson, Nicole Avelina, Khalilah Wilson and Verdell Nicholson, 12 great-grandchildren, his “adopted” son Alfonso Mingo and many other family members. Vernon is predeceased by his son Wendell Nicholson.

Visiting hours will be held at the Boulevard Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 1151 River Road, New Milford, New Jersey Wednesday evening, January 19th from 6 pm to 8 pm. The following day, Thursday, a prayer service will be offered in the funeral home at 11am. Cremation will be private.
