Thomas J. Bruno was 94 years old (just shy of his 95th birthday) when he passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 20, 2025. Born at home in Brooklyn to Veronica (nee Celentano) and Giammaria Bruno, Thomas attended Holy Name Grammar School in New York City and at the tender age of 15 enlisted into the United States Marine Corp. After completing his service, he traveled across country and went on to graduate Santa Maria Union High School in Santa Maria, California in 1948. Thomas explored many trades and led a life that took him on many adventures. His hobbies included guns and he enjoyed hunting in past years with his friends. An avid reader, he made lists of the many books he read and afterwards, would give us his reviews. He ended his 40 year career as a Plumbing Supervisor with Odell S. Harrison Plumbing in New York City. Having retired at an early age, Thomas went back to work fixing anything that needed fixing, pursuing a career in helping his nephew refurbish and build houses.
Thomas was predeceased by his late wife Margherita "Marge" Bruno in 2016. He is survived by his loving children Veronica J. Bruno and her husband Tom Ceramello, John T. Bruno and his wife Patricia Babiak-Bruno, and Thomas J. Bruno and his wife Barbara Bruno. Thomas was predeceased by his late brother Lorenzo D. Bruno and his grandson Michael A. Bruno. He is survived by his sister in law Sister Angelita Vazzano, and his 2 grandchildren, Jared A. Bruno and his favorite Granddaughter, Nicole F. Bruno. Thomas is also survived by his nephew Philip Pulsiano and his wife Fran, niece Jennifer and nephew, Harlan Pulsiano and his wife, Sammantha and his niece Stephanie Thomas as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews and dear friends.
Family and friends are invited to attend visiting hours at the Boulevard Funeral Home, 1151 River Road, New Milford, NJ, on Sunday, August 24th, from 1 pm to 3 pm and 5 pm to 7 pm. The following morning, Monday, a Funeral Mass will be celebrated in his memory in the Church of the Ascension, 256 Azalea Drive, New Milford, at 10 am. Entombment to follow Garden of Memories, Washington Township.
