Rosemary Vervoordt-Breny

Rosemary Vervoordt-Breny of Bergenfield was 77 years old when she passed away peacefully Monday, February 12, 2024. Born in Jersey City to Nancy (nee Ciccolella) and Joseph Vervoordt, Rosemary was raised in Hoboken before moving to Dumont and New Milford. She would later settle in Bergenfield with her husband Jeffrey Breny, Sr. where the couple has lived since 1975.

Rosemary was very charitable and a great all-around person. A great cook but could bait a hook at the same time. She loved fishing and crabbing, classic movies, loved all sports- baseball, basketball, boxing, and especially the time she spent with her friends at the Bergenfield Bowling League. Rosemary formerly spent many years working with Automated Resources in Montvale, New Jersey. She went on to pursue real estate work as an agent for Dick O’Connor Real Estate in Dumont.

Rosemary is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, Jeffrey Breny, Sr.,  stepdaughter Tamara Cook and her husband John, and stepson Jeffrey Breny, Jr. and his former wife Kathleen. She was the devoted grandmother of Justin, Mary Margaret, and Jeffrey III. Rosemary was the cherished sister of Ricki Bacchiocchi and Joseph Vervoordt and his wife Karen, the dear aunt of Liza Tennant and her husband Jesse, Lisa Dickman and her husband Dave, Ali Vervoordt, Bruce Bacchiocchi, and Michael Bacchiocchi. Rosemary was the great aunt of Addy, Elly, Remi, Blaise and Anthony.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours at the Boulevard Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 1151 River Road, New Milford, NJ on Wednesday from 2pm to 4 pm and 7pm to 9pm. The following day, Thursday, a Funeral Mass will be celebrated in her memory in the Church of the Ascension, New Milford at 9:30 am. Entombment will follow at the Garden of Memories Mausoleum, Washington Township. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital @ www.stjude.org
