Richard W. "Buzzy" Gabettie

Richard "Buzzy" Gabettie, passed peacefully in his home on Saturday, October 1, 2022. Surrounded by his oldest daughter, sister Jean and oldest grandson Anthony. A lifelong resident of New Milford NJ, Richard was born on January 11, 1957 to the late Barbara Frew Gabettie and Warren Gabettie. Buzzy married Kathleen "Mac" Gabettie in December of 1984 and had two daughters Samantha Gabettie of Garfield, NJ and Danna Gabettie of Charlotte, NC. He will be missed by his 3 inlaws Israel Marrero, Benjamin Venegas and Tony Maisonet. He was loved dearly by his two sisters and his late brother in law William "Billy" Hetherington and Jean of Northvale, NJ. His youngest sister Joan Van Der Werf and only nephew Peter Van Der Werf Jr., of Lanoka Harbor, NJ. He is survived by his only niece Kaitlin Aras and husband John of River Edge, NJ and his great niece Percy. Grampy will be missed by his 5 grandchildren Anthony, Melia, Armani. London and Chance. Buzz worked as a landscaper most of his life and at Fairmount Lumber. He had a passion for cars and horses as his father Warren was a jockey growing up. He left a memory with everyone he met. He will be greatly missed and now is our angel watching us. We love you Dad, keep us strong and watch over us.
