Richard A. “Rich” Addon, 76, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 21, 2026. Born at Woman’s Hospital in the Manhattan, Rich was a lifelong resident of Bergenfield, New Jersey.
After graduating from Bergenfield High School, Rich proudly enlisted in the United States Navy, serving from 1967 to 1969 during the Vietnam War. During his time in the Navy, he demonstrated dedication and honor while serving his country.
Following his military service, Rich began a long and dedicated career as a lineman with NJ Bell and Verizon, where he worked for over 40 years before retiring. In addition to his professional life, Rich gave selflessly to his community, serving for 50 years as a volunteer firefighter with the Bergenfield Fire Department.
Rich was the son of the late Andrew Addon and Margaret (Messinger) Addon. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Cheryl Anne (Nole) Addon; his son, Richard A. Addon; and his brother, Gary Addon.
He is survived by his loving son, Robert M. Addon and his wife, Michelle, his cherished grandchildren Cali, Abby, Ryan and Jack, who brought him great pride and joy, devoted sister Virginia Addon and his brother Edward Addon.
Family and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Saturday, April 25, from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Boulevard Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 1151 River Road, New Milford. A Fireman's Service will be offered at 2 pm and a funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM.
Rich will be remembered for his courage, selflessness, and unwavering dedication to his community. He has answered his final alarm and will forever remain in our hearts.❤️
