Renata Irena Grabowski (née Kata), 56, of Dumont, died peacefully on March 8, 2022. She was the beloved wife of Grzegorz and a devoted mother to Damian Grabowski, Angelika Lesko and son-in-law Piotr Lesko, and Olivia Grabowski. She is survived by her sister Lidia Kata, and brother Arkadiusz Kata.
Renata was born on October 20, 1965 in Przeworsk, Poland. She lived in a very tight-knit household with her loving mother, brother, sister, cousins, and aunt. She came to America at just 20 years old, where she met her cherished husband and started their family together.
Renata strove to have a strong presence in Dumont where she raised her children. Whether she was working at Dr. Manheimer’s office, volunteering in schools, helping raise funds for the handicap-accessible playground at Honiss School, or walking around town, everyone knew her. Renata also had a gift of gardening — always known for her green thumb when it came to planting and caring for her flowers and vegetables. Her love of travel led her to as many islands as she could visit, the favorite of which was Turks and Caicos.
Renata’s Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, October 12th, at 9:30 AM, at St. Mary’s Church in Dumont, NJ. Interment to follow at St Michael’s Cemetery in South Hackensack, NJ. Family and friends are welcome to join in the celebration of her life on Friday, March 11th, from 5-9 PM at Boulevard Funeral Home, located at 1151 River Rd in New Milford, NJ. In lieu of flowers, Renata requests donations to be made to her brother Arek’s special education program in Poland.
