Raymond Biagio Uzzi, affectionately known as Ray, “Mr. U,” Coach, Pop Pop, and Dad, passed away on July 24, 2023, at the age of 74 in Palm Beach Gardens, FL. He was born on April 27, 1949, in the Bronx, NY, to Lucy and Biagio Uzzi.
Ray was one-of-a-kind, outgoing, lovable, and a friend and father figure to many. He also cherished his years and role as a coach and would call that one of his proudest titles. He had a vibrant personality that touched the lives of those around him. Everywhere you went, somebody there knew Ray. He will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Ray is survived by his ex-wife Rena, his sons Herb (Sarah) and Dan, his grandchildren Camden, Lucy, Sam, and Miriam, his brother John (Mary Ann), his sister Roseann (Michael), and dozens of his beloved cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother Lucy and his father Biagio.
In Ray's honor, in lieu of flowers, he would request donations be made to the Shriner’s Hospitals for Children.
