Ramon "Pepe" Collado a resident of New Milford since 2005 was 81 years old when he passed away Friday, January 24, 2025 surrounded by his loving family. Born in Santiago, Dominican Republic, Pepe grew up the older brother of many siblings. Pepe later immigrated to the United States on July 4, 1963 to begin his new life in Sunset Park, Brooklyn. He was a very family-centered man with a wide circle of friends because of his incredibly social personality. Always a smile on his face, singing a song or whistling a tune, Pepe made friends everywhere he went. He worked as a very dedicated Chef feeding the students and staff at New York University for 35 years before retiring. After retiring from New York University Pepe found a position as a Crossing Guard for the Borough of New Milford, a position that he loved. He enjoyed the children and the families he interacted with every day on their way to and from school.
Pepe is survived by his beloved wife Ana Camelia (nee Castillo) Collado, his loving daughter Nery Roseann Collado and her husband Maximo Rivas, as well as his cherished granddaughters Rhiannon Rivas and Skyler Ellese Rivas. Pepe is also survived by many brothers and sisters.
Family and friends are invited to attend visiting hours at the Boulevard Funeral Home, 1151 River Road, New Milford, on Monday from 4 pm to 8 pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in his memory on Tuesday morning at 10 am in the Church of the Ascension, New Milford. Entombment will follow at Hackensack Cemetery, Hackensack.
