Philip L. Vassallo of New Milford was 78 years old when he passed away on Wednesday, May 28, 2025. Born and raised in New York City, Philip would later move to the Bronx in 1966 when he married Maryann Sacino. In 1969 the couple settled in New Milford where they raised their family. Philip worked for 20 years with the New York City Department of Sanitation before retiring. In retirement, he went on to work for the New Milford Board of Education throughout the New Milford School District. He often volunteered to be a presenter to the students about the dangers of smoking and cancer awareness.
Philip is the beloved husband of 59 years to Maryann (nee Sacino) Vassallo. He is the loving father of Philip L. Vassallo, Jr. and his wife Laura, Steven Vassallo and his wife Connie, and Janeen Vassallo. Philip was predeceased by his late sister Joanne Loiacano and survived by his dear sister Carmela Rizzi. He is also survived by his cherished grandchildren Steven Vassallo, Gina Vassallo, David Gradich, Rhiannon Vassallo, Joseph Picciano, and Lauren Picciano as well as his great-grandchildren Parker and Cole Picciano.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours at the Boulevard Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 1151 River Road, New Milford on Saturday evening May 31st from 7 pm to 9 pm. A prayer service will be offered at 8 pm.
