Peggy Anne Langan

Peggy Anne Langan (née Scanlan), aged 70, of River Edge, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 4, 2023. A Bronx native, Peggy was a product of Sacred Heart School before relocating to New Milford N.J., where she became an alumna of New Milford High School, class of 1971. She pursued her passion for healthcare at the Holy Name Hospital School of Nursing, earning her nursing degree in 1973. Peggy dedicated over four decades to nursing—a career she deeply cherished—prior to her retirement.

A devout Catholic, Peggy's faith was a cornerstone of her life, shaping her service to others and her community. She brought the same love and devotion to her family as she did to her faith.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 35 years, Martin "Christie" Langan. Peggy was a loving mother to Jonathan Misskerg and his wife, Samantha, of Madison, N.J., as well as to Ryan Misskerg and his wife, Michelle, of West Milford, N.J. She was the treasured sister of Carol Wakefield and Claire Fleisher. Her adored grandchildren, Mackenzie and Benjamin will miss her greatly. Peggy also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews. Peggy joins her late parents, John and Anne Scanlan, and her brothers, Dennis and Martin Scanlan, in eternal rest.

Friends and family are warmly invited to pay their respects during visitation at Boulevard Funeral Home and Cremation Service, located at 1151 River Road, New Milford, NJ. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial in Peggy’s honor will be celebrated at St. Peter the Apostle Roman Catholic Church, River Edge, at 11 am on Friday morning. Following the mass, a private cremation ceremony will be conducted for immediate family members.
