On Monday, November 23, 2020, Pedro Tabobo Eguia Jr., loving husband and father of 3 daughters passed away at the age of 68.
Pedro was born on July 12, 1952, in the Philippines to Pedro Sr. and Josefina Eguia. He married Concepcion Bathan on May 26,1989 in New York City, NY. They raised three daughters, Nathalie, Monica, and Laura. In 2018, they welcomed their new son-in-law Charles to their family.
During his life, Pedro was known to be a man of many talents and hobbies. In his youth, he was an active athlete in basketball and volleyball as well as a man that performed in the theater. As an adult, his passions were art and philosophy, and he worked as a textile graphic designer. As a father, he embraced his inner child, and enjoyed gadgets and toys with motors like his remote controlled tug boat, helicopters, trains, and race cars. Pedro had a big heart for senior citizens. He worked as a certified nursing aide at CareOne Woodcrest in New Milford, and volunteered as a driver for the Senior Citizen’s Transport for the New Milford Borough at the same time. He retired from Woodcrest in 2018, but remained a dedicated worker of the New Milford Borough and accepted the position of Supervisor of the Senior Citizen’s Transport. Pedro has a big heart and was always kind, and compassionate towards others. He is known for his cheerful greetings with a big smile and his playful humor.
Pedro was preceded in death by his father, Pedro Sr., his mother, Josefina, and his brothers, Eddie and Winston. He is survived by his wife Concepcion, his 3 daughters, Nathalie, Monica, and Laura, his son-in-law Charles, his sisters Josette, Necasia, and Josepe, and several cousins, nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, November 27th, 2020 at St. Joseph Church in New Milford/Oradell at 10AM. He will be laid to rest at Westwood Cemetery, in Westwood, NJ.
Due to the current pandemic the funeral home is limited to the amount of guests visiting at the same time during the visiting hours. For those who are unable to travel to the funeral home for the visiting hours on Wednesday from 2-4pm and 7-9pm a link will be established on this obituary page to view the live stream of the wake that will be broadcast from the funeral home's Facebook page.
