Paula G. Lora

Paula G. Lora of Teaneck was 60 years old when she passed away Tuesday, April 13, 2021. Born in the Dominican Republic, Paula came to the United States with her family in 1975. After attending High School in the Dominican Republic, Paula graduated Florida State University with a degree in Psychology.  She then went on to proudly serve in the United States Army from 1984-1987 as a Medical Specialist. After her Honorable Discharge from her military service she continued with her education earning a Master’s Degree in Education from City College and later receiving further specialized training at Manhattan College and Columbia University. Paula worked as a School Teacher for over 25 years with the Teaneck Board of Education.  When she wasn’t educating children, Paula was a devout member of the New York City Church of Christ. In her free time she loved to help others and enjoyed giving to the poor and homeless. She had a large heart and always enjoyed finding ways to serve.

Paula is survived by her beloved husband Jose L Lora and her loving children Jorge L Lora and Ruth Lora. She is also survived by her devoted brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours in the funeral home on Sunday from 2 pm to 6 pm. The following day, Monday, Paula will be laid to rest in Brookside Cemetery, Englewood at 11am. The family will be gathering at the funeral home Monday morning at 10 am.  For those unable to attend the services on Sunday from 2 pm to 6pm a live stream will be available on this webpage.
