Paul A Mitchell

Paul A. Mitchell of New Milford was 63 when he peacefully passed away at his home Sunday, August 5, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. Paul was a lifelong resident of New Milford where he was a member of the football, wrestling and track teams at NMHS. He graduated from the Steamfitters Apprentice Program and was a proud member of Local 638, New York City for 44 years. Paul was an avid Giants fan and the leader of the family tailgate party. He was a member of the New Milford Athletic Club where he enjoyed his time with his fellow members. In life everyone loved Paulie and Paulie loved everyone.

Paul is predeceased by his late father George Mitchell, Jr and is survived by his mother Caroline (nee Miles) Mitchell. He was predeceased by his late wife Kathy (nee Kelly) Mitchell and later in life by his girlfriend the late Sheila Kuhl. Paul is survived by the love of his life, his daughter Marissa Mitchell, his brother George Mitchell III and his wife Marsha Montgomery, his brother Richard Mitchell and his wife Nancy Mitchell, and his sister Caroline Freedman and her husband Bill Freedman. Paul is the uncle of Meghan and Patrick Mitchell and Jake, Max, and Carrie Freedman. He was also survived by Sheila’s children Brianna, Lauren, and Michael as well as many relatives that he cherished.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in his memory Wednesday at 9:30am in the Church of the Ascension, New Milford. Burial to follow Brookside Cemetery, Englewood. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday from 2-5pm and 7-9pm at the Funeral Home.
