Miguela Proctor

Miguela Proctor passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 15, 2020 surrounded by her loving family. Miguela was born and raised in the Dominican Republic. She married Gustavo Proctor and together they had 6 loving children. 

After the sudden loss of her husband at a young age, Miguela was left to raise her six children alone.  She made it her life’s mission to raise her children in a loving and supportive environment which greatly valued faith, education and perseverance. In 1961, she immigrated to United States and set roots for her family in New York City. There working as a Nurse’s aide she was able to successfully build a life for herself and her children.

Miguela is remembered for her infectious smile and contagious laughter as well as her strong and bold personality. She was a passionate church goer and could often be found reading her bible. She loved to travel and meet new and exciting people along the way. She found joy taking trips to Radio City Music Hall. Most importantly, she loved spending the holidays with her family and friends whom she adored.

Miguela is predeceased by her husband Gustavo Sr, her son Gustavo Jr, her sister Hildred and brother Constantino.

She is survived by her loving children; Iva Minerva, Gladys, Eva, Luisa (husband Angel) and George (wife Carmen), as well as, Gladys, her late son's loving wife. Miguela is the devoted grandmother of Ramon, Mayra, Sandra, William, Walter, Vanessa, Jennifer, Alyssa, and Amber. She is also survived by her cherished great grandchildren James, Daniel, Brittany, Logan, Elle, Xavier, and Amalia as well as her great-great grandchildren Camari, Jayla and Kristopher.  She will also be survived by her many nieces and nephews as well as great nieces and nephews.

She will be greatly missed by family and friends.
