Miguel Panayotty

Miguel Panayotty, 91, of New Milford, NJ, passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by his family on Thursday, April 9, 2026.  

He was born in Tela, Honduras the son of Ramon and Leonor and brother of Alberto, Marta and Jorge. In 1964, Miguel came to the United States, when he was 30 years old, he worked most of his life as a machine operator in Manhattan. After retiring in 1998 he moved to Peru with his wife Maria and then returned back in 2012 where they have been living in New Milford. Miguel enjoyed singing, playing the guitar, and was an avid chess player and gamer. He touched many lives with his wisdom and humor.

Whether he was transforming scrap into a masterpiece (chess pieces from nuts and bolts). He had a creative and inventive spirit. His imaginative talent for poetry and drawing was admirable

He had the ability to produce new ideas and resourceful solutions. He loved to cook and he made some wonderful recipes that have been passed down to his grandkids (Huevos Rancheros and Fried Bananas with Milk). Who can forget his famous Lasagna, that everyone loved!

Miguel was a man of integrity, humility and generosity. He helped many people without hesitation. No matter what time it was he was willing to lend a hand expecting nothing in return.

Miguel was a caring husband to Maria, father to Maribel, Miguel, Elsa, Patricia, Napoleon, Jessica and grandfather. He will be greatly missed by his loving family and close friends.

Family and friends are invited to attend visiting hours at the Boulevard Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 1151 River Road, New Milford on Saturday, April 11th from 12 pm to 3 pm. A prayer service will be held at the funeral home beginning at 2:30 pm.
