Martin Edward Collier

Martin Edward Collier of New Milford NJ passed away on November 19th 2023 at the age of 72 after several years struggling with Alzheimers. 

Martin was born November 3,1951 in Washington DC. He grew up in Maryland with several years spent in Vietnam and Thailand as a CIA brat with brother Eric, sister Stephanie and 7 years later brother Matthew.

They returned to Silver spring MD. attending Springbrook H.S. where he made some lifelong friends.  Martin was a gifted artist and attended the Corcoran School of Art in Washington. He worked for a company  that created T shirt art, mainly for rock and roll bands. He was given an opportunity to work for a competing silkscreen company in New Jersey. There he met and fell on love with Rosemary. They made a successful life together and had a wonderful daughter Rachel. 

Martin was the son of the late William E. Collier  and Melitta Z. Collier of Silver Spring Md. Loving husband to Rose, devoted father of Sonya Collier, Rachel Guedes and her husband Reynaldo.  Proud and loving grandpa of Andraya and Lillian Guedes. 

Beloved brother of Eric, Matthew and predeceased sister Stephanie, and proud uncle to Joseph Hardy and Erica Alexander, Lindsey, Michael and David Collier.

Martin will always be remembered because there’ll never be anyone to replace him in our hearts, and the love we will always have for you. 

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial visitation at the Boulevard Funeral Home  1151 River Road, New Milford NJ  on Tuesday, November 28th from 3 to 7. A prayer service will be offered at 6pm.
