Margaret Cathy Goodwin

Margaret Cathy Goodwin of Passaic, New Jersey earned her wings on Sunday, September 10, 2023.  The eldest of four siblings, she was born on April 24, 1956 to Earline Goodwin and Charlie Brooks in Green Pond, South Carolina.  Margaret was reared by her grandmother, Josephine Brown, following the death of her mother, Earline, when she was a toddler.

She attended Colleton County public schools in South Carolina and graduated from Colleton County High School.  Following high school, she moved to Queens, New York where she resided for several years before relocating to Paterson, New Jersey.  She birthed and raised her children in Essex County, New Jersey, where she resided until death.  Margaret received an associate degree in 1980 from Passaic County Community College.

She is survived by her siblings:  Michele Pullen (Larry Pullen) of North Carolina; Sharon Brooks (James Bell) of Georgia; and Shawna Brooks of Georgia; two children:  Kevin Adkins and Jennifer Goodwin; and six grandchildren:  Samiyah Goodwin, Mikayla Goodwin, Lailah Sims, Malia Adkins, Cori Adkins and Grayson Goodwin.  She was adored by her family and will be sorely missed.
