Obituary

Marcelino Nito Nazareno was 87 years old when he passed away on Friday, November 11, 2022.

 
Marcelino was born on January 16, 1935 in Naic, Cavite, Philippines. At the age of 18, he enlisted into the United States Navy serving 20 years of active duty. Marcelino retired as a US Navy Chief. During his time in the Navy he served in the Vietnam War. After retiring from the Navy, he went back home to Naic, Cavite, Philippines with his family and lived there for 12 years. In 1986, Marcelino and Bella moved to New York to become grandparents and to help raise all their 13 grandchildren. Marcelino then worked for the US Postal Service and retired at the age of 65.


He is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years Bella Lomat Nazareno. Marcelino is the loving father of Veronica Rebustillo (Rommel), Marcelino, Jr. (Myra), Gemini (Marilou), Giovani (Imelda), Vicente (Evangeline), & Marciana Basa (Patrick Eric).  Marcelino is the cherished grandfather of Rose-Therese, Robin-Joseph (Kaitlyn), & Royce-Vincent Rebustillo; Marsha Mabelle Dela Cruz (Kevin) & Gemini Anthony Nazareno, Jr.; Imee-Jobelle, Joanna Marie, & Giovani Nazareno, Jr.; Victoria-Anne & Andrew Vincent Nazareno; Sebastian Patrick, Jericho Alexander, & Isabelle Cassandra Basa. He is the proud great grandfather of Caleb Rome Rebustillo.


He was preceded by his parents Vicente and Marciana Nazareno, brother Mateo, sisters Luz, Consuelo, Generosa, Aurelia and Violeta.


Even though Marcelino was a man of few words, he was kind to many and had a very generous and caring nature. He always put his family first and went out of his way to help those in need. Marcelino will be missed by many family and friends. His family invite you all to celebrate his life.


Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours at the Boulevard Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 1151 River Road, New Milford, NJ on Friday, November 18th from 5pm to 9pm. The following day, Saturday, November 19th a Funeral Mass will be celebrated in his memory in the Church of the Ascension, New Milford, NJ at 9:30 am. Cremation will follow at Rosedale Crematory, Montclair, NJ.
