Juan Morales of New Milford was 95 years old when he passed away Wednesday, March 3, 2021. Born and raised in Yauco, Puerto Rico, Juan would later join the United States Army proudly serving his country during the Korean War. He was awarded the Purple Heart and 2 Bronze Service Stars for injuries he received in battle. Prior to his military deployment, Juan met his future wife, Minerva Genao, in New York City. Upon return from his military service Juan and Minerva married and were together for 63 years before Minerva passed away in 2016. Juan had a long career in the hospitality industry with the Americana which later became the Sheraton Hotel in New York City before retiring in 1991. He later served as a Crossing Guard in New Milford for 23 years.
Juan was predeceased by his beloved late wife Minerva. He is survived by his loving daughter Gail Janet Noboa and her husband Michael. Juan was the youngest of 9 children; the late Dolores "Lola" Morales the late Inocencia Morales, the late Teodora Morales, Lucia Morales, the late Hermina Morales, the late Chilo Morales, Pedro Morales, and the late Iluminada Morales. He is also the cherished grandfather of Janelle Estrada and her husband Yancy and Kris Noboa and the great grandfather of Avianna and Natalia Estrada.
Friends and family are invited to attended visiting hours in the funeral home on Monday evening , March 8th from 5 pm to 8 pm. For those unable to attend, the services will be live streamed on this web page beginning 5 pm Monday evening
