John J Hurley

John J. Hurley was 73 years when he passed away suddenly on Wednesday, August 4th, 2021. Born in New York City, John was a resident of New Milford for over 60 years. After attending Don Bosco Preparatory High School, where he was a star basketball and football player and a recipient of the IronMan Award, John went on to attend Marist College playing football and receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in History. After college, John proudly served in the United States Army where he was stationed in Germany serving in the Pershing Nuclear Missile Unit during the Vietnam War.

John is survived by his beloved wife, Thea Sirocchi-Hurley, his loving daughters, Vanessa Hurley and Marissa Norris, and her husband, Michael, a cherished sister, Judy Butler, and her husband Michael, his beautiful grandchildren Mason and McKenna and his devoted dogs Bella and Gigi.

A  Funeral Mass will be celebrated in his memory on Friday, August 6th at 10 am in St. Joseph RC Church, New Milford/Oradell. Burial will follow at Maryrest Cemetery in Mahwah.
