Johanna Catherine LaMonica

Well, it absolutely breaks my heart to type this message to the countless amount of friends and family members who knew my mother aka Mrs L, that the time as finally come for her to pass onto the other side and finally be reunited with her loved ones up in Heaven… Our mother Johanna Catherine LaMonica passed away at 88 on Wednesday night after battling Alzheimer's for almost 10 years like the resilient rock star she was. Bless her!! 

So many things can be said about our mother, because she was a worldly selfless individual full of passion, love, affection, talent, thoughtfulness, devotion and sheer fire when the time presented itself. So many things can be said about our mom, but those fortunate enough to know her or better yet, spend time with her, all know exactly what I am talking about. She was a legend that brought tremendous value to countless amounts of people in her lifetime, including many celebrities that she became very close friends within her wonderful lifetime... Liberace, Regis Philbin, Dom Deluise, Paul Anka, Kelly Ripa, and many professional NHL ice hockey players, just to name a few. 

She was definitely the hostess with the mostest, whether it came to hosting amazing Halloween parties, or cooking Christmas dinner to all her priest friends who loved her dearly. She was an amazing cook, talented performer (singer, dancer), comedian at times, who loved being in the spotlight any moment she could. Her vibrational energy was electrifying, as countless amount of people always wanted to be near her and spend time with her. 

She was married to our beloved father Jospeh Basil LaMonica, who passed away over 10 years ago, for a solid 54 years. She was an amazing mother to Barbara, Peter and I, as well as a wonderful sister to deacon Joseph Francione and grandmother to Pierre, Christian and Jessica. What can I say, she just loved her whole entire family to the core and I am so grateful and blessed for the amazing mother she was, and for all the amazing years we had with her. RIP mom... we love you, and will always remember the light, value and love you brought into this world, in a way that most people could only admire!!! ❤️

I never knew I could miss someone so deeply, so strongly, and so quickly, but here we are mom. You will be on our mind forever and always for the amazing human you were who embraced the world with so much passion and love. God Bless!!! 

Family and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Sunday from 1 pm to 5 pm at Boulevard Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 1151 River Road, New Milford, A funeral mass will be celebrated in her memory on Wednesday at 10 am in St. Peter's RC Church, River Edge. Her burial will follow at the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Wrightstown, NJ.
