Joan E. Morgese

Joan E. Morgese of New Milford passed away peacefully at home on Monday, January 12, 2026, at the age of 94. She was born in Bronx, NY on December 5, 1931, to William and Loretta Gerweck.

Joan will be remembered for her loving and caring nature, her array of talents and her passion for art and driving. She was a communicant of the Church of the Ascension in New Milford for many years.

She was predeceased by her loving husband Joseph of 72 years, brother Harry, sisters Shirley and Loretta, along with her son-in-law Chris Bell. Joan is survived by her four children: Christopher (Barbara) Morgese, Nancy Morgese, Janet (Pete) Lawton and Carol (Jed) Duryea. Grandchildren: Cory, Jesse, Rachel, Jillian, Christopher, Craig, Katie, Justine and Colin. Great-Grandchildren: Brighton, Cameron, Ellis and Cassius. She was also a loving Aunt to many nieces and nephews whom she cared for dearly.

Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial visitation on Thursday, February 12, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Boulevard Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 1151 River Road, New Milford, NJ. The following morning, Friday, February 13, 2026, at 11:30 a.m., a Funeral Mass celebrating Joan’s memory will be held at the Church of the Ascension, 256 Azalea Drive, New Milford, NJ.
