Joan Janet Castiner

Joan Janet Castiner, age 72, of New Milford, NJ, passed peacefully on May 15, 2020, after battling complications from COVID-19. Joanie was born and raised in East Harlem and Washington Heights. She is predeceased by her parents, Evelyn and Theodore Giacomino, her brother, Robert Giacomino, her sister-in-law, Dorothy Gentilello, and her brother-in-law, Kenneth Kelly, Sr. Joan is survived by her loving husband, Richard James Castiner, her beloved daughter, Stacy Aubrey O’Neill, her son-in-law, Justin O’Neill, and her grandchildren, Chloe and Hudson O’Neill. 

Joanie leaves behind her aunt, Gloria Greenhut, her cousins, Janet Buckles and Michelle Tucker, her sisters-in-law, Madelyn Kelly and Barbara Valenzano, and her brothers-in-law, Mickey Valenzano and Frank Gentilello. Joan also enjoyed the company of her many nieces and nephews; Kenneth, Thomas, and Steven Kelly, Karen Esposito, Michael Valenzano, Christopher and Eric Gentilello, and their families. 

Joanie Castiner will be remembered for her kind spirit, contagious laugh, dancing ability, a musical ear, and her love for family and friends. 

A Memorial gathering will take in the funeral home on Friday from 10:00 until to 12:00 noon
