Jennifer Mija Yi passed away peacefully on Monday, December 8, 2025, after a six-year battle with Alzheimer’s disease. She was 79 years old.
Born in Korea, Jennifer spent most of her life in the United States, where she dedicated herself wholeheartedly to providing better opportunities for her three children—Ellen, Audrey, and Ralph. Her determination and work ethic were evident in the many roles she held throughout her life, including positions in retail, dry cleaning, pharmaceuticals, beauty services, and even running an internet café. No matter the job, she approached each day with resilience and strength.
Music was Jennifer’s truest passion. She found joy in playing the piano and organ, sharing her talent in her churches and filling her home with tunes whenever she could. She also loved cooking for others, frequently gathering friends, co-workers, and family around the table to share meals and introduce new dishes.
Above all, Jennifer will be remembered as a devoted mother and grandmother, a loving daughter and aunt, and a loyal friend. Her generosity, warmth, and unwavering love will be forever cherished by those who were part of her life.
