Henrietta “Henny” Leone was 95 years old when she passed away, Tuesday, January 10, 2023. Born in West New York, Henny was a lifelong resident of North Bergen. She graduated Holy Angels Academy and then received a Bachelors of Arts in Elementary Education at Notre Dame of Maryland Catholic University. Henny began her teaching career in Weehawken and then taught 5th grade for 38 years in Room 22 at Horace Mann Elementary School. She loved to sing and had traveled internationally with the Stuart Smith Singers. Henny was formerly the President of the Ladies Guild of the Weehawken Elks Lodge 1456.
Henny was predeceased by her parents Ernest and Josephine Hofmann. She is survived by her loving children, Robert Leone (Kelly) and Jill Barbarise. Henny is the cherished sister of Ernest Hofmann and dear cousin of Anna Marie Caruth and Howard Hofmann. She is the devoted grandmother of Natalie Leone, Veronica Leone, John Maniscalco (Marisa), Shannon Oliver (Jeremy), and Brittany Boccia (Anthony). She is also survived by 7 adoring great grandchildren, Ava, Leo, Lydia, Grace, William, Sofia, and Lucia.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours at the Boulevard Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 1151 River Road, New Milford, NJ Thursday from 4 pm to 8 pm. The following morning, Friday, a Funeral Mass will be celebrated in her memory at St. Peter the Apostle Roman Catholic Church at 10 am.
