Felix Taveras Obituary

Felix Alberto Taveras of Bergenfield was 67 years old when he passed away suddenly Thursday, July 18, 2024 in Santiago, Dominican Republic. Felix was born in San Francisco de Macoris, Dominican Republic to Francisca Ortega “Milagros” and Felix Antonio Taveras. In the early 1980s he immigrated to the United States, settling in Brooklyn, New York.

His love for fishing and talent of cooking would later lead him to open, “Felix Langosta Restaurant” along with his beloved wife in Washington Heights. Felix was very proud of his Dominican heritage, always paying homage and participating in the annual Dominican Day Parade in New York City. He had worked very hard to establish a school for the Arts and Culture in his hometown of San Francisco de Macoris, “Plaza de La Cultura.” The impact he continues to have for his hometown will be felt for years to come and his kids plan to continue his legacy.

Felix is survived by his beloved wife Glenys, his loving children Glenis, Charlen, Felix Jr., and Felisha. Felix was a devoted husband, exemplary father, loving brother and unconditional friend. He had a great ability to make others smile and his sense of humor will be missed. Your legacy and your memory will never die. You were and always will be, “Espectacular.” You will live on forever.
