Espiridion Climaco Alvarez Jr.

Espiridion Climaco Alvarez Jr. (Espi) of Bergenfield was 63 years old when he passed away on Monday, July 19th after a long battle with heart failure. Born in Zamboanga City, Philippines, Espi went on to receive a BA in Political Science and Economics from the University of the Philippines where he met his wife. He moved to the United States and finally settled in Bergenfield where he has lived since 1996. Espi worked as the Maintenance Director for Care One, Barnett Medical Center and the Jewish Home at Rockleigh. He is known as a catechist and Confirmation director at St. John the Evangelist in Bergenfield.

Espi is survived by his beloved wife Cecilia (Deanon) Alvarez,  loving father of Jose Lorenzo and Christine Alvarez, and beloved brother to Marisa, Diana, and Rodrigo. 

Family and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Thursday at the Boulevard Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 1151 River Road, New Milford, NJ from 5 pm to 9 pm. The following morning, Friday, a Funeral Mass will be celebrated for Espiridion in St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, 29 North Washington Avenue, Bergenfield, NJ at 10 am.
