Ermine Elementa Cameron was 86 years old when she passed away peacefully October 4th, 2022. Born in Claredon, Jamaica at a young age Ermine sold goods at the market becoming a Market Woman at a young age. She would later become a shop owner. While working in the market, Ermine was fortunate to meet a foreigner who gave her the opportunity to come to the United States. After arriving in US she worked as a housekeeper, this position offered her the opportunity to become a legal resident of the United States. Ermine would later return to Jamaica where she would get married and start her family. She would then return to the United States with her family and go on to work at Englewood Hospital as a nursing assistant, own and operate a deli in Hackensack and even dabble in real estate, owning several homes. Ermine would later return to Jamaica to fulfill her husband Enoch's dream of returning to their homeland. Unfortunately, Enoch would later take sick and but this gave Ermine the ability to travel back and fourth from Jamaica to the United States to be with family.
Ermine was predeceased by her late husband Enoch Benjamin Cameron was well as her late daughter Lucille Cameron and late son Lascells "Tony" Cameron and his wife Marva. Ermine is survived by her son Collin Cameron and his wife Paula, her daughter Sandra Rose Gordon and her son Corlie Cameron and his wife Marva. She is the sister of Cleveland McLean and his wife Cathleen. Ermine is the grandmother of Amina, Najja, Afiya, Jamie, Collin Jr., Raven, Khary, Alex, Lakeshia, Marlon, and Connor as well as the great grandmother of Jailen. Ermine was also survived by many nieces, nephews and good friends who were instrumental with her care.
Friends and family are invited to the funeral home on Saturday, October 15th from 4 pm to 6pm. Ermine will be transported to Jamaica and laid to rest in Rock Hill Cemetery in Blackwood, Jamaica.
