Elizabeth "Liz" Kay Jeffers

Elizabeth (Liz) Kay Jeffers (née Fox) died peacefully in the CareOne Nursing Home on February 10, 2023 in New Milford, New Jersey at the age of 66.

Elizabeth is survived by her daughter, Michele Fox (Richard) Morales of New Milford, NJ, Siblings, Nelda Fox (Terri) Jeffers, Lucille Fox (Eugene) Springhetti, Penelope Fox, Imogene Fox Jeffers, Charles (Michelle) Fox, Richard Fox and Godfrey Fox all of Ohio as well as many other family members and close friends.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 33 years, Wayne S. Jeffers, her father Fred R. Fox, her mother Dorothy M. Fox, three brothers Robert L. Fox, Jonathan Fox and Fred Fox and her sister Kimberly J. Fox.

Liz was born on December 3, 1956 in North Carolina to Fred and Dorothy Fox. She had her daughter, Michele in 1979. She married Wayne S. Jeffers, in 1984. After moving to New Jersey in 1988, Liz began working for The Sands Hotel/Casino as a room attendant. After the Sands closed down, Liz went back to school and became a pharmacy technician. She loved this new job and enjoyed working with people.

Liz was an amazing cook and had an excellent green thumb. She could whip you up a meal with the most basic ingredients. She could also nurse any plant back to life and watch it thrive for years. She was a generous woman who treated anyone who came into her home as family. If you ever asked for a drink or a bite to eat she would simply say to you “You know where the kitchen is, don’t you?”.

A funeral is not scheduled at this time as we are honoring her wishes to be cremated. A memorial service / dinner will be held sometime in the summer. Information for that service will be sent directly to family and friends at a later date. Her body is in the care of the Boulevard Funeral Home and Cremation Service in New Milford, NJ.
