Elizabeth C. Sullivan (nee McCarthy) was 90 years old when she passed away on Thursday, August 7, 2025. Born in Cahersiveen, County Kerry, Ireland, Elizabeth would later move to London before immigrating to the Bronx. Vacationing in the Catskills is where she would meet and later marry Philip J. Sullivan. The couple started their family in the Bronx and later settled in New Milford in 1969. Elizabeth continued to live in their house until her passing, with the exception of 5 years that the family spent abroad living in Singapore. Elizabeth had worked in some of New York City's finest restaurants, including Windows on the World in the North Tower of the World Trade Center and the Rainbow Room at Rockefeller Plaza. She was formerly a very active member of the Bergen Irish Association and St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, Oradell. In her later years, she found great joy in long car rides and indulging in ice cream.
Elizabeth was predeceased by her beloved late husband, Philip James Sullivan, and their sons, Patrick Joseph Sullivan and Timothy Daniel Sullivan. She is survived by her loving daughters, Veronica Capone and Mary Sullivan, as well as her cherished granddaughter, Christina Capone. Elizabeth is also survived by many nieces and nephews here and abroad.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Sunday, August 10th, from 4 pm to 8 pm at the Boulevard Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 1151 River Road, New Milford, New Jersey. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in her memory the following morning, Monday, at 11 am in St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, 300 Elm Street, Oradell, New Jersey.
