Elizabeth Pirnat Obituary

Elizabeth Pirnat (née Gallagher), 74, of Wayne, NJ, passed away on February 4, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Elizabeth was born in the Bronx, NY, and was a long-time resident of Ridgefield Park. She was known as one of the eleven Gallagher girls who made up the Gallagher clan. Elizabeth was the heart and soul of her family. She was known for being stubborn yet patient, with her energy always focused on being there for those who needed her. Her combination of qualities remained with her until the day she passed. Elizabeth is survived by her daughter, Samantha, and fiancé Brian Noe; her sisters Ann, Mary, Helen, Margaret, Patty, Kathy, and Eileen; her sister-in-law, Betty Pirnat; and many nieces and nephews, all of whom she adored.

Liz prided herself on being a devoted mother. She was not only an amazing mother to Samantha, but also to several of Samantha’s childhood friends, whom she considered second daughters and treated as if they were her own child. Elizabeth loved vacationing and was happiest at the beach, enjoying the sun with a drink in hand, as long as she was surrounded by family. Whether it was with her husband and daughter or extended family, including nieces and nephews, family was always at the center of her happiness. When the sun wasn’t shining, Liz focused on making Christmas magical, turning her home into a Hallmark movie. Bdawg & Jillian will carry on her legacy by making her famous oatmeal cookies as part of our new family Christmas cookie-baking tradition. Liz undoubtedly made a lasting impression on everyone she met and will be forever missed. While our hearts ache, we take comfort in knowing Liz will be reunited with her parents, John and Marie Gallagher; her loving husband, Bruce; her nephew Brian; and her sisters, Fran, Terry, and Jane.
