Eleanor Rose (nee Cappozzoli) Carbone of New Milford was 100 years old when she passed away Saturday, November 29, 2025.
Born and raised in New York City, Eleanor was a resident of New Milford since 1968. She loved to cook, especially Italian food. There was always a bowl of pasta and a main dish lovingly prepared when you visited the Carbone home. As a young girl growing up in New York City, Eleanor's intellect was recognized at an early age giving her the opportunity to skip two grades in grammar school and later graduating from Julia Richmond High School at the age of 16. She went on to work for many years as an Executive Secretary at Montgomery Ward. In 1947 Eleanor married Salvatore Carbone, the couple were happily married until his passing in 2009. Eleanor would later help Salvatore manage his moving business and then go on to work at the Emerson School on 96th and 5th Avenue for over 20 years.
Eleanor was predeceased by her beloved late husband Salvatore Carbone. She is survived by her loving sons Joseph Gary Carbone and his wife Elizabeth, Russell John Carbone and his wife Galyna, and John Salvatore Carbone and his wife MaryAnne. Eleanor is also survived by her cherished grandchildren Keith, Jacqueline, Erin, Alexander, and Erik and her adoring great grandchildren Teagan, Logan, and Cameron.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours at the Boulevard Funeral Home, 1151 River Road, New Milford, NJ, Monday, December 1st from 4-6 pm and Tuesday, December 2nd from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. The following day, Wednesday, a prayer service will be offered in the funeral home at 11am. Entombment to follow St. Raymond's Cemetery and Mausoleum, Bronx, NY.
