Eileen M. Reddan of New Milford, NJ peacefully passed away on October 23rd. Eileen was born in Ireland on February 12, 1928, and was raised in a busy household alongside her six siblings. At 17 she traveled to America to strike out on her own. She waitressed at Schrafft’s Restaurant and the Concourse Plaza Hotel. A boarding house run by her future husband’s mom was called home. As fate would have it, it didn’t take long for Eileen and Jack to find love and marry on August 21, 1954. They started a family with four children while living in Bronx NY, until they made the big move to New Milford, New Jersey in 1962. Eileen was a hardworking, determined woman with a great sense of humor, but before anything else she was a devoted and supportive mom who always put her family first.
Eileen was predeceased by her beloved late husband John Joseph Reddan and her son John. She is survived her loving children Patricia Ryan and her husband Edward, Eileen Giles and her husband Reid, and James Reddan and his wife Sheila. Eileen was the cherished sister of the late James Dunn, late Thomas Dunn, late Kathleen McAndrew, Emily Fagherty, late Anne Sunberg, and Patricia Kavanaugh. She is the devoted grandmother of Elizabeth, Faye, Thomas, John, Patrick, Claire, Steven, and Julianne.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours at the Boulevard Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 1151 River Road, New Milford, on Tuesday, October 28th from 4 pm to 8 pm. A Funeral Service will be offered the following day, Wednesday, at 11:30 am in the funeral home. Burial will follow at the Brigadier General William C.
