Dale Lee Swanson

On May 10, 2026, Dale Swanson, 91, of New Milford, New Jersey, passed away peacefully in his home after a long and courageous journey. Born on November 16, 1934, in Milaca, Minnesota, Dale spent the last 66 years of his life in New Milford, where he built a loving family and a life defined by strength, kindness, and resilience. 

Dale proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. He was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Jennifer, with whom he shared 67 wonderful years of marriage. Together they created a family filled with love, laughter, and unwavering support. He was the proud father of three sons and their spouses, Steve and Kristine Swanson of Hillsdale, Greg and Cheri Swanson of Middletown, and Barry and Traci Swanson of New Milford. He was a cherished grandfather to Eric, Briana, Connor, Courtney, Christie, Olivia, and Kylie. Dale also grew up alongside seven siblings, carrying with him the values of family and togetherness throughout his entire life. 

For the last 27 years, Dale faced life as a stroke survivor with aphasia. Despite the many challenges he endured, he remained a true fighter until the very end. His determination, courage, and strength inspired all who knew him. Even through difficult times, Dale’s ever-loving smile could light up a room, and his warm presence brought comfort and joy to family, friends, and everyone fortunate enough to know him. 

Dale will be remembered not only for his resilience, but for the love he gave so freely, the quiet strength he carried, and the way he made people feel simply by being near him. His memory will live on forever in the hearts of those who loved him. He is survived by his loving wife Jennifer, his sons, grandchildren, extended family, and countless friends who will miss him dearly.
