Crispin Jaromay Songcayauon, 69, passed away in the early hours of Friday, January 21, 2022.
Also known as "Pin" or "Toto" Crispin was born on December 4, 1952, in his beloved Tubon, Pigcawayan, Cotabato, Philippines, to Jesus Sr. and Salomia Songcayauon. He is the brother of Alfred, Benito, Celsa, Agapito, Amelia, Jesus Jr., and Maria Gina– many of whom he is reunited with in heaven.
He is survived by the love of his life, Flor Demigillo Songcayauon, and his son, Jesus Sebastian, and daughter, Anne.
He was known as the funniest man whose jokes and puns would always make his friends and family groan in disbelief and approval. He valued family – both in the United States, in the Philippines, and beyond– and everyone felt that 100 percent. He moved on from his career in government with the Department of Public Works and Highways in the Philippines to support his wife and kids in New Jersey, but instilled a deep love for family, faith, history, and public service in his two kids. He was the only sibling to have lived outside the Philippines and stepped in to become a father figure to many of his nieces and nephews as they navigated their lives in different countries.
He loved to listen to music where you could give him any easy-listening song from the 50s-70s, and he can pinpoint the date it was released and a memory of when he first heard the song.
He will be deeply missed by his friends and family around the world.
