Carol Jean Smith

Carol Jean Smith passed away peacefully at home Sunday, September 6, 2020 at 82.

Carol was born to Carl and Euleta Diedel on November 27, 1937 in Bronxville, New York and was raised in Ridgefield Park, New Jersey.  Carol married her high school sweetheart,  David Smith on August 18, 1957.  The two just celebrated their sixty-third wedding anniversary.

Carol was the loving and devoted mother to their four children:  Leanne Cottiers (Ray), Kelly Adamiak (Frank), David Smith Jr. (Elke) and Suzie Pope (Tim). She was also the beloved grandmother (G'Ma) to her eight grandchildren: Michael Smith (Nicole), Christie Kirwan (Sean), Ray Cottiers Jr., Jill Schwind (Jeff), Dan Smith (Rebecca), Jordan Pope, Taylor Pope and Kristin Adamiak. And she was "GiGi to her six beautiful great grandchildren.

Carol also leaves behind her two. uncles, Don and Larry Isaac (and families) of Lamar, Missouri and her life long best friend, Ruth Rothe.

Carol cherished her family and loved their many gatherings and annual Hilton Head Island vacation.  Her and Dave enjoyed traveling over the years and have many life long friends with whom they enjoyed spending time.  After raising their family in New Milford, New Jersey, the two retirees moved to a golf community in Little Egg Harbor, NJ.  Here, they enjoyed many activities and loved the company of their friends, both old and new.  Carol was loved by all who knew her.  Her smile, funny stories and fiesty spirit will be greatly missed.

Carol's life will be celebrated on Thursday, September 10, 2020 at Boulevard Funeral Home in New Milford.  Viewing will be from 10:00 A.M. -1:00 P.M.  Burial will follow at George Washington Cemetary in Paramus, New Jersey.
