Carmen Abreu

Carmen Abreu, conocida cariñosamente como “Morena” falleció a los 59 años en su casa la madrugada del 24 de enero de 2022.

Morena nació en San Francisco de Macorís, República Dominicana el 10 de octubre de 1962. Fue una amada esposa, madre, hermana, familiar y amiga de muchos.

A Morena le sobrevive el amor de su vida Miguel García, su maravilloso hijo Jefferson Abreu, su hermosa madre Ramona Morillo y sus amados hermanos, Milagros Abreu, Ana Abreu, Mercedes Abreu, Fran Abreu, Luisa Abreu, Dolores Abreu, Gregorio Abreu, Andrés Abreu and Manolo Abreu.

Morena creció siendo emprendedora y trabajadora. Morena se graduó de la escuela secundaria y se convirtió en enfermera en República Dominicana durante varios años. Siempre le encantó ayudar a las personas y hacerlas sentir bien. Luego emigró a Venezuela donde fue recibida por sus hermanas y continuó ayudando a todos a su alrededor. Morena finalmente decidió emigrar a los Estados Unidos en la década de 1980 con la esperanza de vivir el Sueño Americano. Entonces años despues, Morena recibió a su familia en Estados Unidos con los brazos abiertos y les dio un lugar donde quedarse. Morena también siempre enviaba comida, dinero, provisiones y más a su familia y amigos que se quedaron en República Dominicana por su naturaleza justa.

Morena se convirtió en una estilista increíble a la que siempre le encantó hacer que los demás se sintieran hermosos. A todos sus clientes les encantaba su personalidad y carisma, por lo que la seguían cada vez que iba a un nuevo salón.

 A Morena le encantaba peinarse, usar joyas y siempre tenía una sonrisa en su rostro. Todos y cada uno de los días mantuvo la radio encendida en su casa y disfrutó de su música. Cada vez que la familia se reunía, todos le pedían que cocinara porque su comida era increíble. Todos los que la conocían, la querían y sabían que podían confiar en ella de todo corazón por su carácter serio. Morena siempre ayudó a su familia y amigos durante los momentos difíciles, creyendo en la importancia de retribuir, ya que Dios lo ve todo. Ella siempre daría buenos consejos y les diría a todos que “usted puede tener cualquier cosa en la vida si trabajas duro.”
 
Morena siempre quiso un hijo y Dios la bendijo con eso. Ella siempre quiso asegurarse de que su hijo Jefferson nunca tuviera problemas como ella y, en cambio, quería que él aprendiera a trabajar duro para poder continuar transmitiendo una vida mejor a sus futuros nietos.
Hay un sinfín de cosas que se pueden decir sobre la increíble Carmen Abreu, también conocida como “Morena”. Su familia y amigos la extrañarán, pero nunca la olvidarán y la amarán por siempre.

Carmen Abreu, known affectionately as “Morena” passed away at age 59 in her home early morning on January 24th 2022.

Morena was born in San Francisco de Macoris, Dominican Republic on October 10th 1962. She was a beloved wife, mother, sister, family member and friend to many.

Morena is survived by the love of her life Miguel Garcia, her wonderful son Jefferson Abreu, her beautiful mother Ramona Morillo and her loving siblings, Milagros Abreu, Ana Abreu, Mercedes Abreu, Fran Abreu, Luisa Abreu, Dolores Abreu, Gregorio Abreu, Andres Abreu and Manolo Abreu.

Growing up Morena was a go getter and hard working. Morena graduated High school and became a nurse in the Dominican Republic for several years. She always loved helping people and making them feel great. She then migrated to Venezuela where she was welcomed by her sisters and continued help everyone around her. Morena eventually decided to migrate to the United States in the 1980’s with the hopes of living the American Dream. Then, when the time came, Morena received her family in the United Stated with open arms and gave them a place to stay. Morena also always sent food, money, supplies and more to her family and friends that remained in the Dominican Republic because her righteous nature.

Morena went on to become an amazing hairstylist who always loved making others feel beautiful. All of her clients loved her personality and charisma, causing them to follow her each time she went to a new salon.

Morena loved to style her hair, wear jewelry and always had a smile on her face. Every and all day she kept the radio on in her home and enjoyed her music. Each time the family would get together everyone would ask her to cook because her food was amazing. Everyone who knew her, loved her and knew they could trust her wholehearted because of her serious character.

Morena always helped her family and friends during struggling times, believing in the importance of giving back as is God is all seeing. She would always give great advice and tell everyone that “you can have anything in life if you work hard.”

Morena always wanted one child and God blessed her with that. She always wanted to make sure that her son Jefferson, never struggled like she did and, instead want him to learn to work hard so that he could continue to pass on a better life to her future grandkids.  

There is an endless amount that can be said about the Amazing Carmen Abreu aka “Morena.” She will be missed by her family and friends but never forgotten and forever loved.
