Betty Lim

Betty Lim, beloved mother and grandmother, died on the 29th of August 2024 at the age of 88. 

Betty was born in Korea and lived through the Japanese occupation of Korea, World War II, and the Korean War. 

She came to the United States in 1958 as a student then returned to Korea to complete her Bachelor of Arts degree in English literature. 

A few years later, Betty attended bible college in New Jersey and was introduced by a mutual friend to Jong Jin Lim, a graduate student (in physics) whom she married in 1962.  

For more than 25 years, Betty enjoyed her work as a technical typist at Columbia University. 

Betty was a woman of deep and abiding faith who was grateful for all the blessings in her life. 

She is survived by her daughters, Grace and Kay, granddaughter, Nina, and son-in-law, Haji.
