Anna Marie O’Connell-Murphy passed away at the age of 59 in the early hours on Friday, October 24th, 2025, with her husband by her side. Born and raised in her early years in Pelham Bay, Bronx, NY, Anna and her family relocated to New Milford in 1973. She attended Ascension School, Academy of the Holy Angels and was a graduate of Fairleigh Dickinson University with bachelors degrees in both Business Administration and Nursing.
Anna previously worked for Jaeger Sportswear in Carlstadt, NJ as a database administrator and St. Barnabas Hospital in the Bronx, New York.
Anna was a very warm and loving person who brightened every room she entered with her infectious smile and quick-witted humor. She could command any dance floor like no other. She enjoyed cooking and baking for family and friends and quietly relished their accolades.
Predeceased by her father, Michael Francis, Anna is survived by her loving husband John of 29 years, her beloved mother Veronica of Lady Lake, Fl, her brother Michael and his wife Melanie of Toluca Woods, CA and her sister Colleen Gray of Myrtle Beach, SC. She leaves behind her niece Veronica Kotsar and her husband Maik and their son Killian of Yokohama, Japan and Talin, Estonia, and her nieces Claire and Bridget O’Connell in CA. She is also survived by her loving in-laws, the Murphy family of Bergenfield, and leaves behind dozens of nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews whose lives were all touched by her love and generosity over these last 40 years.
