Rosina Taranto passed away peacefully on Monday, October 21. Rosina was born in Cattolica Eraclea, Sicily. At 9 she and her family immigrated to the United States on the SS Conte Biancamano. Rosina “Rosetta” as she is known by her family, or Rosie as she is known by her friends, spent her youth in Jersey City, of which she had many fond memories. Rosina worked as a pharmacy technician for many years and spent the last few years volunteering at Holy Name Medical center where she forged strong friendships. She loved family gatherings and laughing until she was beet red. Many things will be missed by her passing, but most of all will be her laughter.
La Donna de la pace e del sorriso, forte nel dolore e del cuore d’oro.
She was predeceased by her son Alexander and survived by her husband Antonio Taranto whom she met on a Trans-Atlantic ship voyage in the 70’s, son Anthony Taranto and his life partner Jeanne Arnold, sisters Rina, and Nancy and many loving nephews, nieces, extended family, and friends.
