Michael P. Zitt passed away suddenly Sunday, September 29th at the age of 55. Born in Weehawken he lived in West New York for many years before settling in New Milford in 2001. Michael retired from the West New York Police department as Captain after 27 years of service. He loved to travel and was an avid Giants fan but his real passion was cooking. Michael was a professionally trained chef as a graduate of the New York Restaurant School.
Michael was the beloved husband of Agnes L. Arostegui and the loving father of Katy. He was also survived by his mother Ellen Kessler and his sisters Karen Connolly and Jayme Madden as well as his nieces and nephews Hanna, Guillermo, Alex, Adrian, and Olivia Arostegui. He will be missed by the entire Arostegui Family especially his loving mother in law Agnes K. Arostegui. A memorial gathering will be held for family and friends Thursday evening in the funeral home from 7pm-9pm. In lieu of flowers please consider making donations in his memory to the ACLU.
