Leo S. Aparri

Leo Siruno Aparri passed away in Paramus, NJ on Friday, October 25, 2019 at the age of 83. He is survived by his loving wife, Josephine Aparri (nee Cabildo); sons, Didier and wife Enriqueta, Robert and wife Rosalina, Kenneth and wife Jennifer; daughter, Rose Adeline; and seven grandchildren, Nicole, Robert Jacob, Michael, Jeremias, Evan, Audrey, and Grayson. He is also survived by sisters Perlita, Cosmedin, and Flora.

The eldest of 8 children of Juan Aparri and Adelina Siruno Aparri, Leo was born and raised in Cabugao, Ilocos Sur, Philippines. Leo immigrated to New York City in 1967, where he fell in love with and married his sweetheart Josephine Cabildo. They lived in New York City before settling in Bergen County, New Jersey. Leo and Josephine traveled the world and shared many memorable experiences together. He especially enjoyed taking family vacations with his children and grandchildren.

Leo received a B.S. in Civil Engineering from the National University of the Philippines and an M.S. in Civil Engineering from the City College of New York. He was a dedicated engineer who never retired from the profession and a Hall of Fame member and Life Membership Award recipient for the New York Water Environment Association.

Funeral mass will be celebrated in his memory on Saturday, November 2nd at 9:30am at the Church of the Ascension in New Milford, NJ. Burial to follow at George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus, NJ. The family will receive relatives and friends in the funeral home on Friday, November 1, from 3-5pm and 7-9pm.
