Giuseppe DePalo was 88 years old when he passed away peacefully Tuesday, October 1st surrounded by his loving family. Born and raised in Giovinazzo, Italy, Giuseppe immigrated to the United States at the age of 16. He lived and worked in the Little Italy section of New York City for many years before settling in New Milford. Gieseppe was the co-owner of Caruso's Fruit Exchange on Mott Street for over 50 years where he supplied many of the area's restaurants with fresh produce. Giuseppe was the proud President of the Saint Anthony of Padua Society for 50 years. He is the beloved husband of Dora (nee Trapani) of 65 years, the loving father of Rose Ann Scoppa and her husband Arthur and Vito DePalo and his wife Lisa. He is survived by his dear brother Frank DePalo and predeceased by his late brother Michael DePalo, late brother Anthony DePalo, and late sister Carmella Vacca. Giuseppe is the cherished grandfather of Kristina, A.J., Alexandra, and Joseph and his adored great grandson Ryan Arthur. Friends and relatives are invited to attend visiting hours at the funeral home on Friday from 3pm-8pm. A funeral mass will be celebrated in his memory Saturday morning in the Church of the Ascension, New Milford. Entombment will follow in St. Joseph's Mausoleum, Hackensack.
