Claire Burke passed away Tuesday, January 1st at the age of 71 years old. Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, Claire lived with her family in New Milford for almost 30 years before retiring to Lewes, Delaware in 2006. Claire was an award winning makeup artist and executive for Clarins with numerous sales distinctions within the industry. She was the life of the party known for her sense of humor and her delicious meatballs. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading, writing poetry and was fiercely passionate about politics, always ready for a good debate. She was the daughter of Salvatore and Frances (nee Caminiti) Contarino. Claire had a strong bond with her family and was the true embodiment of a loving, doting mother. She was the first person to lend a hand to a stranger and to always see the best in people. Claire will be deeply missed by many as her positive energy and fun loving personality lit up a room, but especially by her husband Jack, her loving son Jason Burke and his wife Jackie and her daughter Jennifer Fidalgo and her husband Joao, her dear bother Anthony Contarino and his wife Phyllis, and her cherished grandchildren, Logan, Adelynn and Nathaniel Burke, Veonica and Kaitlyn Fidalgo.
