Luis Arceo Ona Jr., an amazing father and grandfather, was 73 years old when he passed away June 29th surrounded by his loving family. Born in Batangas, Philippines, Luis and his wife Luizviminda, came to the United States in 1978. They would first live in the Bronx and later settle in Teaneck where they have lived since 1990. Luis was a hardworking medical technician for over 30 years in many New York City hospitals. He had worked in St. Luke's Hospital, Lincoln Hospital and most recently Montefiore Hospital in the Bronx to name a few. Luis truly loved his family, always giving and caring. His concern was always with his kids and making sure that they are always safe, happy and taken care of. Luis was a very special grandfather, always very playful, generous and adventurous with his grandchildren. Luis will be truly missed by everyone because he was such a great person that was always able to find the fun in the situation.
Luis is survived by his beloved wife of 45 years, Luizviminda Padios Ona, his loving son Luis Ona III and his wife Brenda Ona and his loving daughter Maria Liezel Ona and her husband Michael Yumul. He is the cherished grandfather of Forest, Julian, Cameron, Adrianne, Mya, Mila, and Madden. Luis is the dear brother of the late Jose Pito Ona, Arturo Ona, the late Emma Resurrection, Nora Ronsayru, the late Bernadette Miranda, Leonardo Ona and the late Luchie Ona.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours at the Boulevard Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 1151 River Road, New Milford, NJ on Friday July 8th from 2pm to 4 pm and again at 6pm to 9pm. For those unable to attend a live stream of the 6pm to 9 pm visiting hours will be available by visiting www.boulevardfuneralhome.com. Saturday morning, July 9th at 10 am a Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Anastasia Catholic Church, 1095 Teaneck Road, Teaneck, NJ. Entombment will take place after the Funeral Mass at George Washington Memorial Park and Mausoleum, 234 Paramus Road, Paramus, NJ.
